Puerto Rico becoming the 51st state?
Make room for the new state of Puerto Rico is possible but doesn’t sound likely. Puerto Ricans voted for statehood for the first-time ever with possible controversy with the clarity of the questions on the ballet. The decision according to the Puerto Rico secretary of state comes from economic factors affecting Puerto Rico. In his statement he said "I think people just came to realize that the current relationship simply does not create the number of jobs that we need.”
According to the Associated Press “the certified results will be sent to the White House and the congressional leadership, and it would be up to them to begin the process of possibly admitting Puerto Rico into the union.”
